Monday 05.30.11 Day Four.

This morning Zane was back to normal; 8am calling "Karaaaaa come quick! Karaaa!!!!!" so I could type his login and password for his computer program.

I made cinnamon rolls for breakfast, but Jude wanted cereal & Zane wanted yogurt. What?? So Stefen & I had to eat them all=)

Since I was off for Memorial day, we were gonna go to the pool again. I told the boys to get ready as usual. Zane didn't want to brush his teeth again and said he was only going to use water. Jude went in the bathroom with him and they came out a few minutes later and Zane said, Kara, you know what Jude did with the spicy toothpaste? He only puts a little bit on his toothbrush, so that's what I'm gonna do." I still can't believe how great of a big brother Jude has been.

Amber came to the pool with us and played lots of games with the boys while Stefen & I lied out=)
We stayed out the pool till everyone was really hungry, then headed back to the apartment for lunch. Luke came over not long after with a movie (Rango) and ice cream.
Jude has been trying to swim better, and Zane has been trying to hold his breath under water. He puts his mouth under but is still scared to put his nose under.







We headed over to Nana & Papa's house around 6 for dinner. Zane passed out around 7:30/8pm on the living room floor and slept through the night.

Jude asks every day who will be watching them the next day, and the next day, and the next.. After I went through about two weeks he said, "I like when you & Stefen watch us because you have us for three days,"

Jude was really happy because Nana said Chay could come over tomorrow (Tuesday)!

Sunday 05.29.11 Day Three.

I forgot to post on yesterday's... Last night, at 9:50, I told them they had to go to bed in ten minutes, so Zane kept playing his DS, and Jude came and sat on the couch with me & Stefen. He was asking who he would be with tomorrow and if we could watch them and stay with them. Then he asked what we were going to do. He wanted to plan out the whole day so he was naming off what we could do; go to church, the pool, play LBP, etc etc etc. then we stopped talking and he was just sitting there smiling, Stefen asked what he was doing and he just laughed and kept smiling. He was just happy and daydreaming I guess haha.

Church time.. I picked out the boys clothes and put them on their dresser the night before. So Sunday morning I told them to get dressed, and it wasn't until a few minutes before we had to leave that I noticed Zane had changed his clothes, but it wasn't the outfit I picked out! A white t-shirt and what looked like pajama shorts. So Stefen carried him into his sissy's bed (sorry Sissy, it was a nice clean bed=), tickled him, while I changed his clothes. I put jean shorts and a button up shirt over the tee. He started laughing because he still had on the same shirt he put on himself. What he didn't realize is that I already picked out the white shirt for him to wear under his button up=)

We were only about 25 minutes late! Hah. When we got to church a friend said "everyone was worried you guys weren't coming (since Stefen plays guitar), but I told them you have two kids now!"

Jude has constantly been practicing his drum beat that Luke taught him. All during worship he kept banging on the chairs and then was using the pens as drum sticks.

After church we went back to their house and packed up some clothes so they can stay at our house (their request).
For lunch I made them turkey and cheese sandwiches on pita bread. Zane said he didn't like turkey and all he wanted was cinnamon and sugar on bread, but I didn't want them to waste it so I said he couldn't play LBP until he ate it all, and then he could have cinnamon on bread for his next lunch. He took a bite and said, "I actually like the turkey on here!" and he finished it, even if it was just so he could play=)
While they were playing, Stefen was talking to Zane about how many gold stars he has (somewhere around 553 hah), and he said, "that's why Kara married me, because she found out how many gold stars I have!" And Zane said, you know who I'm going to marry? My mom!"

Jude got to talk to Chay for a couple hours. Not sure why or how they ended up on the side of my bed, but they stayed there for hours!



So far Jude & Zane have traded their games (well Jude said he'd give Zane his Mario game so he can have the new one we ordered), and both of their stylus pens that came with their DS's.
Their DS's also have some built in games. One of them is called a "brain age check" that has different tests; math, writing, memory, etc. So they've been working on those. Zane has the brain of an 80 yr. old and Jude has the brain of a 55 yr. old. The "best brain age" is 20. So they have some work to do=)



I showed Jude all the pictures Lindy posted on her blog. He said "whoa!" to almost every one. He said "it looks like a big city, like England!" His favorites were the fireworks and looking out of the plane.

We were watching a movie and Luke asked Zane if he knew what animal was on the tv, Zane said an elephant and Luke said, "wow you're smart". Zane said, "yeah I know what it is because of it's big horn".

Zane had a couple incidents last night.. I think they stayed up way too late, so by the time I asked him to brush his teeth he was "really really tired" and couldn't get up. I took him in the bathroom to help him, but he noticed I didn't bring his toothpaste. He had three to choose from and when he tasted the one he picked (that he was ok with using because I told him it was Sissy's that she left here) he started balling.
And then in the middle of the night he came into our room and climbed up on Stefen's side of the bed, he never cried though, just got in bed and fell asleep.

Saturday 05.28.11 Day Two.

Stefen made pancakes for breakfast, then we packed up the boys clothes and headed to our apartment to go swimming. At first Zane wanted to stay in the apartment to play LBP, he said he was just a "game room guy", but we eventually all went to the pool.



We were riding in the car and I wanted to take a pic. of the boys in the back seat so I told them to look at the camera, Zane kept playing his game but I took the picture anyway. I heard Jude talking quietly to Zane and he said, "Zane, mommy said when someone talks to us we have to stop playing our game and look at them, so you need to look at Kara so she can take a picture." Then Jude said to me, "Kara, Zane is ready to take a picture now". I thought it would be hard not having Genesis here as the older sister, but Jude has been a great big brother!







Around 6:30 we went to a friends house who was having a Memorial Weekend party. The pictures pretty much explain everything they did there! Around 9:00 Zane started dancing crazy and acting weird, I told Stefen I thought it was time for them to go to bed and Zane said "yeahhh I want to go to bed!" so we headed back to Guy & Lindy's house.









After the boys took baths and brushed their teeth we tucked them into bed. They asked if we could all sleep in their mom & dad's bed again but we told them they could take turns sleeping in there every other night, so they were fine sleeping in their own bed. We didn't read the book to them just in case they were sad sleeping alone, I think we'll read it when they can sleep with us.

Friday 05.27.11 Day One

Jude and Zane were given Nintendo DS's before Guy & Lindy left. Partly to keep them occupied and distracted so they're not upset missing them the whole time, and partly to help out whoever is watching them! They've worked great so far!

We had some coupons for Rita's that expired yesterday so Stefen & I wanted to take them. Jude was all for it and was ready in minutes. Zane on the other hand, has been saying he wants to stay at his house and doesn't want to go anywhere, so we have to try hard to convince him it will be fun. Once we get wherever we're going he's usually fine. He finally agreed he would go with us, but when he changed his clothes he wanted to keep his night shirt on under his shirt he just put on, so that when he got home he could take it off and have the other shirt on. If weird little things like this keep him happy, we let him do it.


While we were at Rita's Zane said he wanted to go home and when I asked why he said, "because I miss mommy". We asked Jude if he missed Mommy, Daddy, and sissy and he said "a little bit", but over all Jude has been fine.

Guy & Lindy bought them a book that they recorded themselves reading it. The boys were getting ready for bed, Stefen climbed in Zane's bed with him and then Jude climbed in too. They asked if Stefen could sleep in there with them and I asked if they just wanted to all sleep in Guy & Lindy's bed with us, they both got really excited and said "yes!!" Jude said, "can we really ALL sleep in there??"
So we all moved to Guy & Lindy's bedroom. Once everyone was tucked in I read the book to them. Zane was busy joking around the whole time and wasn't paying much attention. When we were done reading the book I noticed Jude was crying. He said he is fine but when he sees them or hears them it makes him miss them.
We tried to change the subject and started talking about dolphins hugging people with their "hands" and then we fell asleep.
